Course Description:

This 2 day workshop will introduce participants to the art of traditional woodcut printmaking. Participants will design, carve and print their delicate woodcuts. We will pay attention to lines, texture and patterns. Animals and vegetation (flowers, leaves, fruits, etc) are particularly suited to this medium. Beginners are welcome, no prior experiences needed. 

What students will bring home:

An edition of 3 A5 size prints and their woodblock.

What students can prepare (not required): Printed Images (A5) and ideas of what they would like to carve. Images with plants, animals and landscape are great.

本課程將向參與者介紹傳統木刻版畫藝術。參加者將在兩天內設計、雕刻和印刷精美的木刻版畫。細膩的線條、紋理和圖案特別適合動物和植物(花朵，葉子，水果...)等主題。

課程結束後，各學員將完成三張A5木刻版畫作品。(如果時間允許，參與者可以印更多副本。)

所有材料、工具都包括在內，並將由工作室提供。工作室使用油性墨水。

學員不需要任何關於版畫的經驗。

About the tutor:

Hong Kong Canadian interdisciplinary artist Michelle Fung has been an avid art educator for two decades. She is currently working on a body of 99 unique woodcuts to portray “Polluta”, one of her fictional worlds (2018-ongoing.) Her woodcuts are being exhibited in many local and international printmaking festivals including Impact 12, International Printing Conference (Bristol, UK, 2022), Impact 11, International Printing Conference (Hong Kong, 2021), 5th Global Print (Portugal, 2021), 11st International Printmaking Biennal Douro. (Portugal, 2022), Tribuna Graphic 2020 (Romania, 2020.) She has an upcoming solo exhibition at the municipal museum Art Gallery Boris Georgiev, Varna, Bulgaria, as the invited guest artist of the Quarantine Film Festival (2022) and has held recent solo exhibitions at leading artist-run galleries in Australia (2019) and California (2018), as well as the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (2019.) Her works have garnered many local and international awards. Her short films have been selected at many international film festivals and she has participated in many prestigious international residencies including Banff Centre, Canada (2010), Art Omi, NY, USA (2016) and The Arctic Circle, International Territory of Svalbard(2022.)

馮捲雪在2022年將應Quarantine電影節邀請，
前往保加利亞Art Gallery Boris Georgiev 舉行

（2018年）著名非牟利藝術中心舉行個人展覽
。

其作品獲得豐富本地和國際獎項，短片入選多
