MONOTYPE : 1 day course [獨幅版畫]

Course Content(請拉到本頁底查看中文內容)
A unique print, typically painterly in effect, made by applying paint or printing ink to a flat sheet of metal, glass, or plastic and created through a process of oily inks being pressed and transferred from a flat surface onto paper.
This particular process is very favorable to those who prefer a more painterly effect to their prints, as gestural and textural marks can be achieved through the use of a wide variety of tools which can either remove or apply the ink to your plate. Through these tools, you will explore the boundaries of mark making with Monotypes.
Each plate typically yields one monotype, but subsequent pulls (sometimes called “ghost impressions” because of their relative faintness) can be made from the residual mediums on the plate.

What this course covers :

Mediums are applied to the plate using two different methods. In the additive, or “light-field,” technique, ink or paint is applied directly to the plate, often with a brush. In the subtractive, or “dark-field,” technique, the plate is covered with a layer of ink or paint, and the image is formed by manipulating and removing the ink or paint using a variety of tools, including brushes, rags, or the artist’s fingers theory, preparing the paper, mixing ink, printing the image.
By the end of the day you will have created a varied collection of very original prints.

All materials are included and provided by the studio.
The course uses oil based ink.
