Course content: This Screen print course is set over 1 day and aimed at developing participants’ knowledge, skill and confidence in the screen printing process. Participants will develop an image to translate into a 3 to 4 layer screen print. Using a practical approach, participants will learn to prepare, coat and expose a screen, prepare paper, mix colour inks and utilise various registration techniques for printing multi-layer prints. By the end of this course, participants will have a thorough understanding of the screen printing process on a basic level. During this course, participants will complete an edition of 5 A4 multi-colored screen prints on archival fine art paper to take home. All materials will be provided by the studio. The studio uses water based ink.

⭐️Artist Profile: Justin Larkin is a Hong Kong based printmaker, he received his MA in fine art printmaking from the Royal College of Art London and acquired BA in printmaking from the National College of Art and Design in Ireland. He has been the recipient of several prestigious grants and fellowships, including the London Print Studio Award, the Advanced Artist-in-Residence Fellowship at Mokuhanga Innovation Lab in Japan. He recently received an honourable mention from the Awagami International Print Exhibition in Japan. His works are held in public, institutional and private collections around the world. He has exhibited his works in solo and group exhibitions in the Ireland, United Kingdom, Hong Kong and Japan and has attended residency programs in Germany and Japan.
