2 Day Tintype Instant Photography Workshop with Damon Lam

Tintype was a photographic technique invented in the mid 19th century and was the first true form of “instant” photography. It was the technique of choice for photographers who set up mobile studios at carnivals and other live events because these photos had to be shot, developed and handed to the customer within 15 minutes.

In this workshop, students will explore the art and technique of shooting Tintypes, and see the world rendered in an aesthetic that is unparalleled by any other forms of photography.

Students will bring home at least 2 tintype plates that they have shot and developed themselves.
