Mel Cheong 張凱儀

Mel started as a designer and then shifted to develop herself in art. She won the Artist in Residence Award in the “6th Evora International Printmaking Competition” in 2009 and also held her first solo exhibition “Last Portrait” in the same year.

Mel uses a journalistic view to observe the ever-changing world and compares her surroundings to judge and understand herself. These observations and ideas are expressed in her art. Mel graduated from the University of Macau, majoring in Communications. She is now teaching Mokuhanga Class in Macau.

澳門大學英文傳意系畢業，當設計師一年後，決定向藝術界發展。於2009年獲第六屆埃武拉國際版畫比賽的駐場藝術家獎，並於同年舉行第一次「最後的最後」個展。近年一直志力參與各地的駐場活動，希望於不同的環境、文化差異下尋找自我獨特的感悟。以記者眼光觀看世界變化，多以身邊事件作自我評審及理解為創作題材。
